(Friday, July 04, 2008 12:00 AM) Anarchy Online is About to Turn 7, and GSP is THERE!! (Sunday, June 15, 2008 1:39 AM) Technical problems June 5th/6th... (Friday, June 06, 2008 4:35 AM) The All-New GSP Player! Woohoo! (Sunday, March 09, 2008 4:27 PM)
SWEEEEEET GODDESS THAT ROCKED!! I love Dragon*Con. I'm a big fan. I celebrate the entire library. (yes, bad movie reference there) I'm a fanboi of Dragon*Con. Those who do not go to Dragon*Con are not experiencing something that will enable them to die knowing that they are complete as a person. Or something to that effect. Anyhoo, suffice it to say that this was yet another clear-cut success story of serious partying, great friends & company, great times, and another proof of point that the staff at Funcom are not only capable of interacting with their customer base, but entirely apt at listening to us and working with us to make things happen. The panels went off incredibly well (amazingly enough, the AoC panel griefers really didn't have much to say after having their points concisely addressed). There were many GSP DJ's, Dancers and listeners present, and as usual it was incredibly awesome to have them around and hanging out with us! The Funcom booth extended an entire wall of one of the con ballrooms in the Marriott, and yet again simply stole the show. Where some vendors were there, Funcom was there and you KNEW it. Every single passerby had to stop and inquire, and at many points the crowd was so intense that we were afraid we wouldn't be able to keep track of all the loose items in the booth! The responses were fantastic, and yet again the "casual yet professional" attitude presented by both the on-hand FC staff and the security staff for the hotel were beyond all expectations. And then there was the party... hey, I DJ'ed! Yes, it was my first professional live DJ party, and it went off VERY well! It was amazing to spin the tunes for such a large and lively crowd of people, and it seemed to go over exceptionally well to 99% of the participants (the other 1% just simply hating the music I was playing, hehe). I'm really hoping to get a shot at that again for next year. Side-note on that: Kirasha, Mynka, & Jenibell... um, thanks. Hehe. No, like thank you. Really big-time. Woohoo? ;D So yeah, plans are already in progress for next year!!! The hotels are already booking up for Dragon*Con 2009, so don't miss out on the excitement, get your reservations set up asap and join GSP (and hopefully Funcom) for Dragon*Con 2009 - Sept 4th thru Sept 7th!! On further notes, as we do every year at the con, many conversations were had amongst the "management" of GridStream Productions regarding our plans for the next year, and while most of the resulting changes will be too internal to really see from the listeners standpoint, the ripple effect of those changes will most certainly be felt. I'll be filling in more current and detailed information on the upcoming News post, which won't be long, so stick around and stay tuned, and thank you for listening! h00t h00t! --tK
Check it out!
GridStream Productions is happy & proud to welcome a new member into our midst, DJ Nushen! She's just starting out, so take it easy on her! (as if that wasn't a statement loaded to backfire or anything, hehe) Keep an ear open for her ninja sets, and eyes open on our forums for her upcoming show! We are also wishing a fond farewell to DJ Traanse, who has poured so much time and energy into us, there's just no best way to thank you!! Good luck, Traanse!!! (and you BETTER keep in touch!!) In further news, the rumors are sort-of true, GSP has been downsizing a bit. This is not a bad thing, mind you! We're not going on a kicking spree or anything that dramatic, but there is a rotation process right now as some DJ's move on and new DJ's come in, so there are some open slots during the week that we won't be able to cover all the time (namely just a few hours during Eastern time evenings, Mon thru Wed). Cover shows will happen during these times, but as said, probably not every single time. We're looking at this as an opportunity to keep our options fluid as we prepare new DJ's and new future projects. Special Events are certainly still on the up-and-up, and we have plenty upcoming bashes to look forward too, just check out our calendar on the main page! Speaking of future projects, there's a particular event that I think you do NOT want to miss... ---------------------------------------- Anarchy Online Turns 7!! On 27 June 2001 at 12:30 GMT the Anarchy Online Servers were officially turned on. Chaos ensued. Joy followed. Anarchy Online brought something totally unique to the MMORPG genre by being one of the first science fiction based online games, and continued on over the years to introduce new and unprecedented ideas into the way MMORPG's are played, many of which persist to this day in each and every new release of an online game throughout the market. Instead of using the standard fantasy based system, Anarchy Online introduced a futuristic and advanced technology theme to its dungeons, world, and even skill sets. The combat skills and system that Anarchy Online introduced when it was released used that same theme of advanced technology along with the conventional melee combat systems of most MMORPG’s to create a never-before-seen play style previously unheard of in online gaming. Funcom & The Advisors of Rubi-Ka, in conjunction with Gridstream Productions, invite you to come celebrate 7 Years of Anarchy Online!! The guarantees: Fun, Prizes, Music and more!! Be sure to be tuned in to GSP and logged on to Anarchy Online for the MASSIVE weekend-long party, beginning Friday, 27 June at 4:00pm UTC/GMT, 12:00pm Eastern, and continuing with non-stop live DJ's and in-game events hosted by Funcom and the Advisors of Rubi-Ka, all weekend long!! We're confident that this will be one of the biggest and most remembered global parties in the history of Anarchy Online! Hope you can make it! h00t h00t!! --tK
